Mauritius Health Minister Anil Gayan has been invited to India by RK HIV Aids Research and Care Centre on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 for attending a health awareness campaign at Shree J B Dharukawala College in Surat, Gujarat.
The one-day campaign will include participation of 10,000 volunteers, along with 5,000 doctors and 10,000 paramedics. Free health insurance worth Rs 6,000 crore will be provided at this event.
On accepting this invitation extended by Uday Pratap Singh to attend the campaign, Gayan said, "I'm aware about this mega event to be held on Gandhiji's Jayanti and also been invited for the same. I know about India and the people there who are in need of medical facilities. I had the honour and privilege of meeting Uday Pratap Singh a couple of days ago and was very impressed by his thought and initiative and his willingness of looking at the health care, not only in India but all over the world. I hope it becomes a great success."
Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla, Jackie Shroff, Prachi Desai, Rahul Roy, Govinda and Vivek Oberoi are also expected to attend this event, along with several politicians.
"Modiji is very popular in Mauritius. While he came to Mauritius, people were dying to meet him and catch a glimpse of him. He's doing a wonderful job for his country and while he did a splendid job in Gujarat as a Chief Minister, he has great vision for India, which is truly commendable," Gayan said.
Discussions regarding bilateral health issues will be discussed between Gayan and Singh in this meeting.
