Delhi Daredevils (DD) may have shown a marked improvement from the last edition of the IPL, as they lie on the fourth position with three wins from six matches.
DD would be looking to bag a fourth win as they host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who are packed with big stars of world cricket, at Ferozeshah Kotla, Delhi. Despite some big names, RCB have not been able to take the IPL 2015 by the storm having won only two games so far.
But, with a comprehensive victory in their last game against Rajasthan Royals, they would have their tails up when they face JP Duminy-led side. RCB outclassed RR in their last game in all departments of the game and another clinical performance could help them defeat DD at home.
With some match-winners in both the squads, let's look at two players from each side who could make a difference at Ferozeshah Kotla.
Delhi Darevdevils
JP Duminy – The South African has not only been the best player for DD, but also one of the stars of the IPL so far. He may primarily be a batsman, but his handy off breaks seem to have been delivering the goods as he has already taken seven wickets in IPL 2015. With players such as Chris Gayle at the other end, Duminy may fancy his chances with the new ball as the West Indian prefers pacers up front. But, it is Duminy's batting abilities, which has helped DD win many a matches. He has scored 207 runs so far with a healthy strike rate of 128. If the DD's skipper has a good outing, RCB may well be on the losing side.
Imran Tahir – The purple cap holder from DD has been a huge asset with the ball in his hand as he has not only restricted the batsmen, but also taken wickets at regular intervals. He has taken 13 wickets in the competition and the RCB batsmen might have to treat him with respect. It is his wrong one, which has troubled batsmen in this IPL. But with players such as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the South African leggie have a huge task in hand as well.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Mitchell Starc – The Australian has continued his World Cup form to the IPL as well. Though he may have not played much this IPL, the left arm pacer has already been a huge threat in the last two games he played with four wickets against his name at an average of 11.50. Such kind of a strike rate for a T20 competition is insane. Virat Kohli would be looking at his exploits with the new ball at the start of the innings.
AB de Villiers – If the Proteas skipper gets going, there is no bowler in world cricket who can contain him -- the recent World Cup being a testimony to that. The South African is the mainstay of RCB batting line up, which possesses Kohli and Gayle as well. The right hander may have only scored 176 runs, but it is his strike rate of 183, which instills fear and his ability to kill games with his willow makes him the player to watch out for in today's game.
