"Masterchef India Season 4" winner Nikita Gandhi is the youngest contestant to win the cookery show. The 21-year-old chef was announced the winner of the fourth season of the cookery show on Sunday night.
Nikita, who won viewers' and judges' heart with her culinary skills, now wants to open her own restaurant in Abu Dhabi, where she resides.
"I majored in Business and Finance at university - so I would definitely like to start up a restaurant one day. Ideally I would like to set it up in Abu Dhabi. It depends on where I am in the future. But I think if I were to open one right now, it would be in Abu Dhabi," she told The National in an interview.
But before opening a restaurant, Nikita wants to make her foundation stronger in this field.
"I would definitely like to open a restaurant someday in the future, but before that I feel I still have a lot to learn. I learnt a lot in 'MasterChef', but I think learning never ends," she told IANS.
The 21-year-old chef will invest her winning amount of 1 crore in getting professional and disciplined training from a culinary school.
"Age is in my favour and I have a lot of time, which I want to use in learning and building a stronger foundation before I could go ahead and open my own restaurant or do anything related to this on my own," Gandhi said.
Nikita became the top vegetarian chef in the cookery show by beating her co-contestants Bhakti Arora and Neha Shah. Bhakti was the second runner-up, while Neha was the first runner-up.
