The next Mass Effect video game, "Mass Effect Andromeda," from BioWare and EA will be released sometime in 2017. It was previously assumed that the game was being considered for Holiday 2016 release.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen was speaking at a business summit, where he discussed the games that are coming out this fiscal year.
Jorgensen said that the next Mass Effect game will be available in "Q4" and GameSpot clarified that EA's financial fourth quarter is from January to March, which means that "Mass Effect Andromeda" will be shipped in these first three months of 2017.
"We have all our sports games, we have Mirror's Edge, a runner game coming out in the first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we're pretty excited," Jorgensen said, GameSpot reports.
BioWare has revealed some details of the upcoming game. We know that it will take place after the original trilogy. It will feature a new galaxy for players to discover. It was also revealed that the players have the option to choose either a male or female charcter as the game's protagonist. The players will be able to navigate Mako, a buggy-type vehicle. Based on fan discovery, the protagonist will likely be called Rider.
