Mary Rose skulls exhibited online in 3D for the first time
The skull of a carpenter from the Mary Rose, which sank 471 years ago, is among the items which have been turned into 3D models on virtualtudors.org. Other items include a knife handle and some rope from the ship. It was leading the attack on an invading French fleet north of the Isle of Wight. Discovered in 1971 and raised in 1982, the wreck held around 19,000 artefacts and 179 skeletons. A further nine skulls are to be exhibited in 3D for scientific use.
