Fans of Marvel's TV series were shocked to learn that ABC had cancelled "Agent Carter." In yet another blow, the channel has now confirmed that it won't be picking up "Most Wanted," a spin-off to Marvel's other series, "Agents of SHIELD."
Cinema Blend has reported that ABC took the decision because of budget and rating issues with Marvel. However, the decision undoubtedly came as a surprise because ABC was actively moving forward with "Most Wanted" till recently.
The decision has also left the fate of actors Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood dangling as they were to be the protagonists in "Most Wanted" and their roles were characters were excluded from "SHIELD" for it. According to Entertainment Weekly, since "Most Wanted" won't be happening now, it is still unsure whether they will return to SHIELD.
According to the synopsis of "Most Wanted," as stated by Cinema Blend, Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Hunter (Nick Blood) were on a run and soon they were to meet Dominic Fortune (Delroy Lindo) who was to assist them on their mission in exchange for their help on a quest of his own.
Oded Fehr, of "The Mummy" fame, was set to play a prominent Marvel antagonist in the show. Apart from him, Fernanda Andrade had also signed up for an unknown role in the series.
As reported by Comic Book, with the cancellation of the significant Marvel shows "Most Wanted" and "Agent Carter," ABC is left with just one Marvel show for now. Though there are talks of a series on "Damage Control" and "Cloak and Dagger," there is no official confirmation regarding these shows yet. Even if they materialise, it won't be before at least next year that the viewers will get to watch them on television.
Apart from "Most Wanted" and "Agent Carter," ABC also cancelled "The Muppets" and "Castle." However, "American Crime" and "The Real O'Neals" have been renewed by the channel.
