Jessica Jones aka Krysten Ritter is all set to appear in Netflix's upcoming Marvel series, The Defenders, prior to return to her standalone series. While information about the second season is still scarce, Ritter dropped a few significant hints regarding the Netflix show.
Netflix released Marvel's Iron Fist (starring Finn Jones) in March. The superhero ensemble series, The Defenders, is slated for release this August. And the production of the second season of Jessica Jones, as announced earlier, has started in New York City.

Some photos of the upcoming season emerged online last week, and showed Jessica Jones and Trish Walker having a run-in with the police. Although the photos did not reveal much, they complement the comments from showrunner Melissa Rosenberg that she wants to explore the relationship between the two women, Jones and Trish.
In a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Ritter teased the fans, saying that once the season goes on air, viewers will have no option but to binge-watch it. She said, "I feel like it's a binge show big time. This season maybe even more so than last.

"Even as I'm getting the episodes and reading them on the page, they ramp up so much at the end that it's kinda hard to not want to just dive into the next one! So maybe try and savor it, but be prepared to cancel your weekend plans?"
Ritter's comments hint at some interesting cliffhangers in the next season. Netflix has not yet released any official synopsis for season 2, and it is still unclear when the second season will be premiered. Meanwhile, the streaming network will drop a mini-series based on the Marvel comics, The Punisher in November. Hence it's likely that the second season of Jessica Jones will not premiere anytime before early 2018.
