Marvel's one of the impressive teams of superheroes is returning to the small screen for The Defenders on Netflix. And a brand new teaser was unveiled on Tuesday.

The 15-second teaser perfectly picks up from the end of Daredevil's second season where it was shown that Elektra's (Matt Murdock's only love) body was placed into a chamber by members of underground assassin organization The Hand. So hopefully, Elektra will return in the Marvel's TV universe.
Netflix's The Defenders will see a crossover between popular Marvel superheroes —Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The series will feature Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist.
Aside that, Elden Henson will reprise as Foggy Nelson along with Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Eka Darville as Malcolm, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Meanwhile, Sigourney Weaver will be seen in the villainous character of the series as Alexandra. Apart from that, Jon Bernthal's The Punisher is expected to return for the series; although it is not confirmed yet.
The last short teaser of The Defenders had the season premiere date hidden in it as all the superheroes including Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Daredevil gathered together in an elevator.
Marvel's The Defenders will debut on Netflix on August 18. The Punisher is coming later this year.
