Avengers: Infinity War left everyone sour after it disintegrated half the Marvel Cinematic Universe and preparing fans for Avenges 4. From Black Panther to Doctor Strange and few of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos wiped out half of them with just a snap.
While we do know that the core Avengers will bring the universe back to balance in Avengers 4, the question of how they will do it still remains a mystery. The directors are still not ready to reveal details about the title or how the Avengers will take their revenge, the Russo Brothers have revealed five new updates from the Marvel movie.
Anthony and Joe Russo recently featured in a video dropping clues that will tease fans further about the Avengers 4. The directors revealed that although Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) were just catalysts to bringing the war to Wakanda, the duo will be a little different than their previous portrayals in Avengers 4.
The directors explain that both the Marvel superheroes will showcase a few different characteristics in the upcoming Avengers movie because of the time they spent together on the run after the events panned out in Captain America: Civil War. "It's hardened all of them in a way," Joe Russo says. "You can't go on the run without it affecting you emotionally."
Cap and Black Widow weren't the only ones who changed. According to Joe, Doctor Strange also changed when he was in Titan. "The fact that he was able to view the events unfolding 14 million times, and watching them lose 14 million times, is weighing heavy on his heart," the Russo Brother says.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Wakanda played a crucial role. While Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and the Guardians were busy fighting the Mad Titan on his planet, his children aka Black Order attacked and almost ruined Wakanda in an attempt to obtain the mind stone from Ultron's head. The final battle and the snap took place in Black Panther's land.
Director Joe hints that Wakanda's work in the Avengers' battle against Thanos is not over yet. "Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) has tremendous potential as a character in the Marvel universe. And I think Wakanda is essential to whatever may happen post-Avengers Infinity War to how the world may deal with what has happened to them," he said.
Apart from these interesting tidbits, Ant-Man and the Wasp director also went ahead to confirm a popular fan theory. A popular fan theory suggests that the Avengers will travel through time and Quantum Realm will play a part in it. Director Peyton Reed recently confirmed the theory that the Avengers could use the realm to travel through time and fight against Thanos.
In the Ant-Man 2, Scott Lang is last seen exploring the Quantum Realm. Before he enters, he was warned to avoid time vortexes. While fans are not given detailed explanations about these anomalies, the movie did confirm that time travel a possible thus fueling the time travel theories.
"Based on the science that we've set up in the first movie and this one, I won't rule out the possibility," Reed told The Huffington Post. "Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex. That could happen." Reed added, "I have to be careful here, as you well know."
Avengers 4 releases on May 3, 2019.
