The auto enthusiasts in India have seen enough spy shots of Maruti's upcoming premium hatchback YRA in both disguised and uncamouflaged avatars. Now coming your way is a fresh batch spy shots of a masked YRA hatchback, but this time showing its large boot space.
The latest set of YRA hatchback spy shots comes from the folks at GaadiWaadi who believed to have snapped it inside Maruti's Gurgaon plant. In the images, YRA hatchback is seen hiding beneath thick camouflage, however, a closer look at the images will show the outline of the car.
Expected to be positioned above Maruti's popular Swift hatchback, the upcoming YRA premium model is likely to weigh 90kg less than Swift.
The earlier spy shots showed a design similar to Swift and the YRA is likely to feature chrome door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, rear wiper and de-fogger.
Inside the cabin, the YRA is likely to get sporty interior with vertical AC vents and a new music system with touchscreen.
As for the engines, nothing has been concrete as yet; however, from the few details the rumour mills have spat out, YRA is likely to get 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel engines. In Europe, the car is likely to get 1.4 litre petrol motor.
Once it hits the market, Maruti YRA hatchback will be squared off against the Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20 in India. A global unveiling of the model is expected in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show and in India, the YRA is likely to make its debut after that.
In 2015, Maruti is also expected to launch the new facelift version of its Swift Dzire sedan and also YBA SUV.
