Maruti Suzuki YRA Hatchback to Get CVT in India, Engine Options Revealed; What We Know So Far [PHOTOS]

Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker bets big on its upcoming model. The company, which launched Ciaz in the premium sedan segment, is now preparing to roll out its first crossover S-Cross and the premium hatchback YRA in India.

If the latest reports on the web are to be believed, Maruti's upcoming premium hatch YRA will be offered in India with a range of petrol end diesel engines. According to GaadiWaadi, the engine line-up of Maruti YRA will include 1.25-liter (1,242 cc) petrol engine, K10C Boosterjet motor, 1.4 K-Series petrol motor and tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor.

The report adds that the 1.25-liter engine of the model will get 5-speed transmission and a CVT (continuously variable transmission) gearbox options.

The new YRA hatchback which will compete against the likes of Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20 in India is expected to hit the showrooms during the festive season this year.

The car, which is currently in its testing phase in the country, was spotted numerous times and the rumours suggest that the model will get features like steering wheel with buttons for audio and cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, airbag deactivation button, heated front seats and central armrest in the front.
