If emerging reports are true, Maruti Suzuki's upcoming YRA hatchback will have the K10B1.0-litre petrol engine, which does duty in Celerio and Alto K10.
A recent report in Business Standard claimed that Maruti, which is aiming to get back to the top spot for fuel-efficient cars, will launch its upcoming premium hatchback YRA with a 1.0 litre three cylinder engine. This engine, which has the capacity to churn out 68 PS power and 90 Nm torque in its naturally aspirated state, will be getting turbocharger in the new YRA for increased power and torque. Not just that, with turbocharger, the engine will also be maintaining good fuel efficiency.
Maruti YRA, a global hatchback is scheduled to make its maiden appearance through Suzuki iK-2 concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2015 slated to begin on 3 March. In India, the model is expected to make its debut during the festival season this year.
The model, which is currently in its testing phase in the country was caught on camera many times. The car is expected to pack features like chrome door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, rear wiper and de-fogger. From what we have heard so far, the feature-list will also include steering-mounted controls, new music system with touchscreen, Engine start stop button, electrically adjustable OVRMs and reverse parking sensors.
When launched, Maruti YRA hatchback will be pitted against Honda's upcoming Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20.
