A new prototype of Maruti's upcoming compact SUV YBA has been spied undergoing tests in the Delhi - NCR region, revealing the production specific taillight of the model.
Caught on camera by GaadiWaadi reader, the latest spy shots of YBA, also known as Vitara Brezza/ XA Alpha is seen hiding under considerable amount of camouflage. However, the images give a good idea of the overall body proportion of the model.
As said, from the pictures, one can see the production-ready taillight and going by the words of original publishers the upcoming YBA compact SUV of Maruti is likely to be sold through the company's nation-wide dealerships, and not through new Nexa premium dealer chain.
Under the hood, Maruti YBA is expected to carry 1.2-litre K-Series engine and 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine. YBA SUV, a sub-4m model based on Suzuki iV-4 concept SUV that was seen at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, could also get Maruti's latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology which was debuted with Ciaz SHVS.
To be pitted against Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in India, Maruti YBA is expected to see the light of the day in this financial year, with the probable launch at the Auto Expo, 2016. From what we hear, YBA SUV is likely to get features like key-less entry, push start/stop button and touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
In India, YBA is likely to cost between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 8.2 lakh.
