The unprecedented success of Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza compact SUV leading to over 25,000 bookings in two-weeks of its launch has now reportedly resulted in prolonged waiting period for the model in the country across all variants. The Vitara Brezza, Maruti's first attempt in the compact SUV segment, was launched in India March 8.
According to a report by ZigWheels, the Vitara Brezza currently commands a waiting period of up to five months in the country. While the waiting period of LDI, LDI (O), ZDI and ZDI + variants are now extended by up to four months, VDI and VDI (O) variants would be available within three months. The top-end variants of the Vitara Brezza — the ZDI + dual tone colour — is currently has a waiting period of up to five months.
The Vitara Brezza, the first model from the country's largest car-maker to be conceptualised, designed, developed and validated in India has been priced starting at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The compact SUV is offered in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options.
Powering the Vitara Brezza is a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm, teamed with a five-speed manual gearbox and it promises to deliver a mileage of 24.3 kmpl.
Maruti has started the delivery of the Vitara Brezza March 25. Maruti Suzuki has increased the production of the Vitara Brezza to one lakh from the previous 80,000 after witnessing more-than-expected response at the Auto Expo 2016. The Vitara Brezza was first showcased at the Auto Expo.
