Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV Vitara Brezza registered 20,000 bookings within 14 days of its launch. The compact SUV made headlines after it received over 2,600 bookings within 24 hours of its launch. The company also confirmed deliveries of Vitara Brezza will start from March 25 via over 1,800 sales outlets spread across the country.
"We are delighted at customers' response to Vitara Brezza. They have appreciated it for its sporty and muscular design and the combination of features offered at multiple trim levels. Our endeavour now is to deliver these cars quickly so that customers can enjoy their Vitara Brezza," RS Kalsi, executive director at Maruti Suzuki, said in a statement.
The Vitara Brezza compact SUV is conceived designed and developed in India by Maruti's R&D team led by Chief Engineer CV Raman. Unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 in the beginning of February, the compact SUV was launched March 8 at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec trim.
The compact SUV is available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options. In addition to this, the top-spec ZDi+ will be additionally sold in three dual tone finishes. Vitara Brezza is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Vitara Brezza also boasts fuel efficiency of 24.3 kmpl, which is the highest in the SUV segment.
