Maruti Suzuki launched its newest offering, the Vitara Brezza compact SUV, Tuesday (March 8), and also opened bookings officially the same day. The initial reports says the compact SUV will add another feather in the cap of Maruti Suzuki and the bookings have crossed 2,600 units in less than 24 hours.
The company has tweeted about the booking status in the dedicated Vitara Brezza Twitter page. The compact SUV has been launched for a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for top-spec trim.
The SUV is available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options. The top-spec ZDi+ will be additionally sold in three dual tone finishes. The compact SUV is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Vitara Brezza also boasts fuel efficiency of 24.3 kmpl, which is the highest in the SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed a petrol and AMT avatar is actively in consideration.
The compact SUV boast of features such as electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, cooled glove box, cruise control, projector headlamps and in-built navigation. On the safety front, driver airbag is a standard on all variants, while front passenger airbag and ABS with EBD is offered as an option from base variant onwards. The Vitara Brezza measures 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width, 1,640mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. It comes with 198mm ground clearance and 328-litres of boot capacity.
