As the Vitara Brezza compact SUV from the house of Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker, continues to write success stories in India, the latest bit of information is that the model has garnered over 1 lakh bookings since its launch in the domestic market.
The Vitara Brezza has been making headlines since its entry into the market in March. Now CarandBike reports that the compact SUV has entered in the 1 lakh club and has a waiting period of over eight months. The overwhelming response for the Vitara Brezaa has prompted Maruti to increase the production to 10,000 units from July.
Available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options, the Vitara Brezza houses features like electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, cooled glove box, cruise control, projector headlamps and in-built navigation. On the safety front, the Vitara Brezza packs driver airbag, front passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.
The compact SUV is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It boasts of best-in-class fuel efficiency of 24.3 kmpl.
The Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki's first attempt at the sub-four meter compact SUV segment, is also the first model to be fully developed in India by its R&D team led by CV Raman.
