Maruri Suzuki's much-awaited compact SUV Vitara Brezza is expected to go on sale in India from March 8. Auto-lovers in the subcontinental market are eagerly wait to hold the steering wheel of the new compact SUV, which made its first public appearance at the Auto Expo 2016.
Now, to entice auto enthusiasts further, a report on Oncars.in, citing sources, claims the delivery of the new Vitara Brezza will commence from April. The dealers of Maruti have already started accepting the bookings for the new Vitara Brezza, and previous reports had said the compact SUV is evoking great responses.
The Vitara Brezza is the first model to be conceived, designed and developed in India by Maruti's R&D team led by Chief Engineer CV Raman. Expected to be offered in six variants — LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+ — the Vitara Brezza will be powered by a 200 DDis diesel engine that will churn out 88.5bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Although there is no petrol mill under the hood of the Vitara Brezza as of now, compact SUV could get petrol engines later in its life cycle.
To be pitted against models like Mahindra TUV 300 and Ford EcoSport in India, the Vitara Brezza measures 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width, 1,640mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm.
The Vitara Brezza is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.2 lakh. The soon-to-be-launched compact SUV from Maruti will be sold through the regular dealers of the company.
