Maruti Suzuki's first compact SUV Vitara Brezza will be publicly unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 in February. Ahead of the launch, the pictures of the compact SUV have been leaked online.
The images from Gaadiwaadi show the front and side profiles, while the rear has been left to our imagination until the unveiling next month. The highlight of Brezza's face is a bold looking grille with a thick chrome horizontal strip. The grille is flanked by projector head lamps unit that also features DRLs inside the cluster. The turn indicators are not part of the head lamp unit and are positioned on either sides of the front bumper above the round fog lamps. A skid plate can be seen below the radiator grille, which stresses on the off-road prowess of Vitara Brezza.
Similar to the Swift hatchback, the Brezza comes with blacked out A and B pillars. The ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and roof get contrasting colour. The compact SUV will feature body cladding and five twin-spoke alloy wheels. True to its SUV tag, the Brezza will sport square wheel arches, short overhangs, high ground clearance and upright hood.
The reports indicate Brezza will be sold in six trims -- LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+ -- and all the variants of the model will come equipped with driver side airbag. The top-end variant is expected to flaunt features like Smartplay infotainment system, in-built navigation, reverse parking camera, keyless entry, auto headlight, cruise control, cooled glovebox and rain sensing wipers.
The compact SUV is expected only with diesel engine in India that is likely to be the 1.3-litre DDiS unit, Maruti Suzuki using many of its models. This engine develops 74bhp and 190 Nm of torque in Swift, while in the S-Cross, it produces 89bhp and 200 Nm. It remains to be seen which state of tune will be selected for the Vitara Brezza.
