The dealers of Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, have started accepting the bookings for its soon-to-be-launched Vitara Brezza compact SUV.
Maruti Suzuki dealers in Bengaluru told International Business Times, India, that the bookings were open with a down payment of Rs 10,000 and the amount is refundable in case someone cancels the booking. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is expected to enter the Indian market in March. The compact SUV, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi, is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.2 lakh.
The Vitara Brezza is the first vehicle to be conceived, designed, developed and validated in India by Maruti's R&D team led by Chief Engineer CV Raman. Under the hood, the Vitara Brezza is expected to pack only a diesel 200 DDis engine initially, which can churn out 88.5bhp of power @4,000 rpm and 200Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm, with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Expected to be offered in six variants – LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+, the Vitara Brezza measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. Once it hits the market, the Vitara Brezza will rival Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and the Ford EcoSPort.
