Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been experiencing phenomenal success in the country since its launch in March, with over 95,000 bookings made in the domestic market.
The Vitara Brezza, which currently commands a waiting period of eight months in the country, has raked in 95,339 bookings in India so far, reported Economic Times.
The dealers of Maruti Suzuki have been struggling to keep up with the demand, and the waiting period is exceeding nine months in some cities. The company, which is said to have increased the production from July to meet the rising demand, hopes to cut down the waiting period soon. It has also being reported that the company has lowered the production of its bread and butter models — the Swift and the Dzire — at its Gurgaon plant to accommodate its current hot-selling models, the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza.
The Vitara Brezza is the first model of Maruti Suzuki to be conceptualised, designed, developed and validated in India. The compact SUV is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It boasts of best-in-class fuel efficiency of 24.3 kmpl.
Available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options, the Vitara Brezza houses features like electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, cooled glove box, cruise control, projector headlamps and in-built navigation.
