Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV Vitara Brezza has been earning tremendous response from the auto lovers in the country since its launch in India March 8. The compact SUV, Maruti's first offering in the segment, has reportedly raked in 40,000 bookings already and is still going strong.
A report of IndianAutos Blog says that the Vitara Brezza has received over 40,000 bookings in India within one month of its launch. The increasing demand for the new compact SUV has stretched the waiting period of up to six months in some cities. Previous reports had said that over 50 percent of total bookings are for the top-end model of the Vitara Brezza.
The Vitara Brezza, Maruti's first model to be conceptualised, designed, developed and validated in India is offered in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ variants. Available only with diesel engine, the compact SUV of Maruti is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It promises to deliver a mileage of 24.3 kmpl.
The car houses electrically-foldable ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, cooled glove box, cruise control, projector headlamps and in-built navigation.
The Vitara Brezza has been priced starting at Rs.6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
