The stage is all set to welcome the highly anticipated compact SUV Vitara Brezza from the house of the country's largest car-maker Maruti Suzuki. The compact SUV, which was unveiled in India at the Auto Expo Delhi, will go on sale in the country on Tuesday, March 8.
The Vitara Brezza, a model which has been conceived, designed, developed and validated in India by Maruti's R&D team led by Chief Engineer CV Raman will be sold through the regular dealers of the company. The company has already started dispatching the Vitara Brezza to its respective dealers and the bookings for the model are underway.
Under the skin of Maruti's new compact SUV is a diesel 200 DDis engine, which can churn out 88.5bhp of power @4,000 rpm and 200Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm, with a five-speed manual gearbox. The engine is tuned to return a mileage of 24.3kpml. Maruti Vitara Brezza is expected to include a petrol engine under the hood later along with the automated manual transmission (AMT).
Expected to be offered in six variants — LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+ — Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will be offered in nine exterior body shades that include monotone and dual tone. While the dual tone colours blazing red with midnight black, fiery yellow with pearl arctic white, cerulean blue with pearl arctic white will be available on the top spec ZDi+ trim, the monotone colours — pearl arctic white, premium silver, granite grey, blazing red, cerulean blue and fiery yellow — will be available with the rest of the trims.
Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.2 lakh, Maruti Vitara Brezza will rival Mahindra TUV 300 and Ford EcoSport in India.
