Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker, is gearing up to launch its new compact SUV Vitara Brezza in India towards the end of March, suggest the emerging reports. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was unveiled globally at the Auto Expo 2016 in early February.
A report of the Financial Express claims that Maruti Vitara Brezza could be launched in the domestic market in the third week of March (between 20 and 25). The Vitara Brezza SUV, which has been conceived, designed, developed and validated in India by Maruti's R&D team led by Chief Engineer CV Raman, is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 to 8.2 lakh.
The bookings for the Vitara Brezza are already underway in the country and the model will go on sale through the regular dealers of the company. To be pitted against the models like Mahindra TUV 300 and Ford EcoSport in India, Vitara Brezza measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,640 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
Expected to be offered in six variants — LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, and ZDi+ — the Vitara Brezza draws power from a diesel 200 DDis engine, which can churn out 88.5bhp of power @4,000 rpm and 200Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm, with a five-speed manual gearbox. The made-in-India Vitara Brezza will also be exported to other markets, including Asia, Latin America and Africa.
