Maruti Suzuki's best selling models -- Vitara Brezza compact SUV and the Baleno -- continued increased sales in July. According to reports, both the models have crossed 10,000 units of sale in July contributing a major share to Maruti Suzuki's monthly sales.
India's largest car-maker sold 10,000 units of the Baleno in July, reports Livemint. The Baleno first crossed 10,000 sales mark in May when it found 10,004 takers. In June, sales declined to 6,967 units due to the week-long maintenance shut down at Maruti Suzuki's plants in Haryana.
In the case of Vitara Brezza, this is the first time Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV is breaching 10,000 unit sales mark. The Vitara Brezza found 6,673 customers in June and 7,193 takers in May. The July sales figure of Vitara Brezza is also the best-ever monthly sales of the compact SUV, reports NDTV Auto.
Maruti Suzuki already announced an increase in production of both the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno. The former racked up over 1 lakh bookings so far and has waiting period of six to nine months. Maruti Suzuki still has a backlog of close to 45,000 bookings for the Baleno.
Meanwhile, the company has hiked the prices of its models on Aug.1. The Vitara Brezza's price has been increased up to Rs. 20,000, while the Baleno will be costlier by up to Rs. 10,000.
The Indo-Japanese car-maker is also planning to launch petrol version of the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno RS with turbo-petrol during the festive season. With the arrival of new variants, the sales of both the models are expected to hit all time high and it remains to be seen how the company will meet the demand.
