If the emerging reports are anything to go by, Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car-maker, is targeting a sale of 1, 00,000 units of its newly launched Vitara Brezza in the first year. The Vitara Brezza made its entry into the Indian market on March 8.
A report of ET Auto reveals that Maruti Suzuki is planning to produce 1, 00,000 units of the Vitara Brezza after seeing the response for the new compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2016, where it made its first public appearance. Maruti had previously planned for the production of 80,000 units of the Vitara Brezza, adds the report.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company, which opened the bookings for the new compact SUV on March 8, has received over 2,600 orders in less than 24 hours.
Available in LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi, ZDi+ and ZDi+ dual tone trims with six colour options, the compact SUV is powered by a 200 DDis 1248cc diesel engine that develops 88.5bhp at 4,000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Vitara Brezza also boasts a fuel efficiency of 24.3 kmpl.
The Vitara Brezza measures 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width, 1,640mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. It comes with 198mm ground clearance and 328-litres of boot capacity.
It houses features like electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, a reverse parking camera, Smartplay infotainment system, cooled glove box, cruise control, projector headlamps and in-built navigation.
