Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car maker by volume, will launch a limited edition version of the Swift hatchback soon. The company on its twitter handle commenced a contest that seeks the name for the upcoming limited edition model.
One of the tweets from the company states the upcoming Swift limited edition is both stylish and sporty. Though there is no other information on the limited edition, the company showcased a special Swift model draped in red at the Auto Expo 2016. In all probability, this could be the upcoming limited edition of Swift.
The car showcased at the Auto Expo featured racing stripes in on the bonnet and rear doors. It was showcased with white rear view mirror covers and black wheel caps. Sportiness for the special Swift was accentuated with side skirts and the interior was spotted with seats in dual-tone finish. The upcoming limited edition car is also expected to get Bluetooth-enabled music system, new floor mats and reverse parking assist with a rear-view camera. Under the hood, the limited edition Swift will continue with 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-liter DDiS diesel mills.
Swift is one of the best selling models for Suzuki Motor Corporation around the world. The company in April announced that Swift has crossed cumulative worldwide sales of 50 lakh unit. Arrival of limited edition Swift looks like to celebrate this achievement.
In March, a set of images of the rumoured next generation of Swift hit the web, showing the changes made to the model. This model is expected to make its global debut in 2017.
