The launch of Maruti's crossover S-Cross is just around the corner. The company has put up a microsite for its upcoming model to allow potential buyers to register for the S-Cross.
The S-Cross, Maruti's offering in the premium crossover segment, is tipped to make its India entry shortly. The microsite with the 'Coming Soon' tag indicates that the S-Cross is ready to hit the roads. As we have known for some time, some Maruti dealers have started accepting bookings for S-Cross for an advance payment of ₹20,000-₹30,000.
In another development, folks at Motor Trend India have managed to capture the upcoming S-cross once again in its production guise, this time in its completely revealed form. In its white body paint, the spied prototype of S-Cross is believed to be the 'Zxi' variant of the model with the safety feature ABS.
Although in the latest spy shots, one can see all the features that have been rumoured so far, such as the two-slate chrome grille and the skid plate around the body, the prototype seems to have missed out the projector headlights.
The likely features of S-Cross include dual zone climate control feature, of the model, which is a first in its segment, touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system, rear AC vents, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.
Under the hood, Maruti S-Cross is expected to get 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines in its engine line-up. The 1.6-litre diesel engine will have the capacity to churn out a power of 118bhp with a peak torque of 32kgm and the transmission is likely to come from a six-speed manual gearbox.
To be pitted against Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport in India, the S-Cross will be priced at around ₹8 lakh.
