Maruti Suzuki's new crossover S-Cross is poised to take off in the Indian market in July. Now, ahead of its official launch in the country, the S-Cross has made yet another appearance online, this time through a new video straight out from IIFA Awards 2015.
In a new video of NDTV Auto shot at the IIFA Awards 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Maruti S-Cross is seen in Blue body paint, giving us an early glimpse of the model. The video reveals the new dual-slat chrome grille of S-Cross along with projector headlights with LED daytime running lights. The S-Cross also flaunts new alloy wheel design, wing mirrors with turn indicators and skid plates on the front and rear bumpers.
Coming to the interior of the new S-Cross, the video reveals the dual zone climate control feature of the model, which is first in its segment, touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment system, rear AC vents, dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.
Under the hood, Maruti's S-Cross is likely to get 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines. The 1.6-litre diesel engine will have the capacity to churn out a power of 118bhp with a peak torque of 32kgm and the transmission is likely to come from a six-speed manual gearbox.
To be sold in the country without Suzuki or Maruti badge on it, Maruti S-Cross will be taking on the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport.
The bookings for the model are underway in the country with a down payment of ₹25,000. The S-Cross, which is likely to be priced around ₹8 lakh, will be sold through Maruti's premium car dealership Nexa.
