It seems the launch of Maruti's highly-anticipated S-Cross crossover has been confirmed. Reports emerging on the web suggest that the company will break the cover of its new model in India in the first week of August.
An Indian Autos Blog report claimed the company has confirmed the launch of the S-Cross for early August, but did not divulge the exact date.
The S-Cross crossover from Maruti Suzuki will take on the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport in India.
Maruti S-Cross, the first crossover of the company, will include a 200 DDiS 1.3-litre diesel motor, which can churn out 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, and a 320 DDiS 1.6-litre diesel that is tuned to pump out 118bhp and 320Nm of torque in the engine line-up.
To be available in eight variants and five body paints, S-Cross will house features such as smartplay infotainment system, rear centre armrest, LED positioning lamps, driver airbag, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering and reverse parking sensor.
Bookings for the new S-Cross are on. When launched, the model will be sold through the company's Nexa premium dealerships.
