Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, the first car to go on sale on the Nexa premium dealership in India will get a facelift in the country in 2017. The S-Cross facelift, which was unveiled earlier this year, is expected to join the Nexa floors in India in late 2017.
Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker is expected to add four products to its Nexa range in the country. While the much-awaited the Ignis compact crossover and the Baleno RS will join the floor in early 2017, the company is expected to bring the facelifted avatar of the Ciaz, which is currently being sold through regular dealers, and the S-Cross to Nexa in late 2017.
Coming back to the S-Cross facelift itself, the crossover in its new avatar gets newly styled front fascia with a larger radiator grille and new projector headlamps and the re-worked rear with tail lamps and new bumper.
Inside, the S-Cross facelift now features new instrument cluster dials with MID and new seat upholstery with contrast stitching, although the basic layout remains untouched. As far as the engine is concerned, in the international markets, the S-Cross facelift now gets 1.4-litre Boosterjet petrol engine with four-wheel drive (4WD). However, this is unlikely to make it to the Indian market.
The S-Cross in India is likely to continue with the same 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel units. The 1.3-litre diesel motor churns out 89bhp power and 200Nm torque and 1.6-litre diesel engine tuned to pump out 118bhp and 320Nm. We also hear that in its facelifted avatar, the S-Cross could get 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine in India. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
