The Nexa, the latest destination for Maruti Suzuki's premium offerings, is celebrating one year of success in India. The company, which announced the launch of the Nexa along with the S-Cross crossover last July, has grown to 150 Nexa showrooms across 94 cities in India in a year.
Maruti Suzuki Nexa, a premium experience in buying and selling, currently has two models on its floors — the S-Cross crossover, the first model to be sold through the premium dealership, and the Baleno premium hatchback. According to Maruti, Nexa has contributed about 10 percent to the total domestic sales of the company.
Celebrating Nexa's first anniversary, RS Kalsi, the Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, of the company, said, "Nexa has been created to address the needs of a new and growing segment of Indian customers. These customers are well travelled, digitally savvy and frequently experience five-star hospitality." Kalsi added that over half (51 per cent) of the customers who bought cars at Nexa were not customers of Maruti Suzuki at that point, indicating that through Nexa, the company attracted new categories of customers.
Nexa is expected to contribute 15 percent of Maruti's total sales volume by 2020 and the company plans to expand the number of outlets to 250 by next year. Maruti is expected to add two models —the Baleno RS and the Ignis — to its Nexa line-up during the festive season this year. While the Baleno RS is the Boosterjet engine variant of premium hatchback Baleno, the Igins will be small crossover.
