If the latest reports are to be believed, Suzuki, which unveiled its new compact SUV Ignis at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show, is likely to showcase the model in India at the upcoming Auto Expo, 2016.
Various reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki may debut the new compact SUV Ignis at the Auto Expo, before it makes its India entry late in 2016.
Suzuki Ignis, the model based on the Suzuki iM-4 concept that was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, is expected to get Suzuki's new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, BoosterJet petrol motor.
Rumours are also doing the rounds that a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine with the SHVS mild-hybrid system mated to CVT gearbox could also features in the compact SUV. The Ignis model, which was showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show, shared a lot of similarities with the concept model in terms of styling and design, save for the few changes.
Expected to be a sub-four meter, Ignis compact SUV will come with the four-wheel drive system. When coming to India, Ignis could also get 2WD option.
