India’s car market leader Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday launched the new diesel variant of its hatchback Ritz with several new features and is priced between ₹531,000 and ₹623,000 keeping in mind new age car buyers.
According to a statement issued by the company, the new Ritz variant packs 52 changes which include new front design, new dual tone interiors, and new ZDi variant, multi-information display on instrument panel, new audio system with USB, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors and body side molding. Maruti always took the market by the horns with its high fuel efficiency rates, and this time the company introduced the Ritz diesel with ten percent higher fuel efficiency at 23.2 kilometres per litre.
“It is heartening to see a fairly young brand crossing 200,000 sales marks in just 37 months. This reflects the huge customer acceptability of the Ritz. Numerous changes being introduced now will make the Ritz brand more vibrant. Most important, the new Ritz is more fuel-efficient with enhanced driving comfort. This makes it even more attractive for the customer and also gives us confidence to generate additional sales,” said Manohar Bhat, Vice President (Marketing) Maruti Suzuki India.
The new Ritz will be available in three colours of mystique red, granite grey and breeze blue, The vehicle is powered by a 1,248 cc DDiS diesel engine and can achieve a speed of 0-60 kmph in 5.9 seconds.
"A pleasant delight is the 10 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency from 21.1 km per litre to 23.2 km per litre for the Ritz diesel, which has been achieved with numerous initiatives by the company's engineers," the company said.
