India's leading auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki launched its all new mid-size sedan SX4 on Friday.
Maruti, which seeks to strengthen the company's foothold in the mid-sized sedan market, introduced the new SX4 with the price remaining unchanged. The petrol variants of the car are priced between ₹7.38 lakh and ₹8.84 lakh, and the diesel models are priced between ₹8.27 lakh and ₹9.79 lakh.
"The all new Maruti Suzuki SX4 has new looks, and also brings new features such as touch screen audio navigation and electronically foldable ORVMs with turn indicator. Powered by two celebrated engines the Super Turbo 1.3 Litre diesel and the 1.6 Litre VVT petrol engine, the car now offers much more to the car connoisseurs in this segment," Manohar Bhat, VP, Marketing of MSIL told PTI.
On the mechanical front, the improved SX4 packs Super Turbo 1.3 Litre diesel engine or the 1.6 Litre VVT petrol engine. The company claims 16.51kilo meter per liter fuel efficiency for the petrol variants and have made changes in its exterior as well as interiors.
The car will be available in two new colours which include serene blue and granite grey. It packs features like touch-screen audio with integrated navigation with Bluetooth.
The auto majors in India are going through a trying time as car market continue to face demand downturn. Maruti is also affected by the market slow down. The company has reported a plunge of 7.9 percent to 1,09,567 units in its total sales for February 2013, compared to 1,18,949 units for the same month last year. The company hopes to revive the market with new launches and discount offers.
