Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, posted an increase of 9.7% in its total sales in November 2015 at 120,824 units as against 110,147 units in the same month last year.
In November 2015, while the domestic sales of Maruti increased 10.6% at 110599 units as against 100024 units in the corresponding month last year, the export during this period recorded only a minimal growth of 1% to 10225 units as compared to 10123 units in November last year.
Maruti sold 35981 units of Alto and Wagon R in November, 2015, compared to 37746 units in the corresponding month in 2014, a decline of 4.7%. The sales of the super-compact Dzire Tour jumped to 3363 units in November, up from 1989 units during the same period in 2014, registering 69.1% growth. There was no sale of premium sedan Kizashi during last month.
In the compact car segment that includes Swift, Ritz, Celerio, Dzire and new Baleno, Maruti witnessed 19.5% to 44626 units in November this year compared to 37339 units a year ago. The sales of Maruti Ciaz sedan clocked 5509 units last month, recording a 5.3% increase from 5232 units in the same period last year.
The sales of utility vehicles Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga and S-Cross stood at 8688 units in November, up from 5515 units in the corresponding month last year. The company sold 12432 units of Omni and Eeco last month, compared to 12203 units in November 2014.
