New details of Maruti's much awaited Ciaz sedan have emerged on the web space, confirming the diesel and petrol trims along with the variant wise features.
Maruti Ciaz, the next big ticket from the country's largest auto maker is set to rumble in the domestic market in the next couple of weeks. Although the company has not revealed the exact launch date of Ciaz, the rumour mills have suggested the date as 10 October.
The auto aficionados in the country are drooling over this vehicle for quite some time now. The car, which was caught on camera dozen number of times is coming to the highly competitive sedan market with great expectations of bringing back the maker's name.
We have been reporting extensively on the new Ciaz sedan and the auto enthusiasts here will already have a pretty clear picture of what to expect.
Now, the latest tidbit of information we have is even more interesting. The good chaps at AutoCar India have managed to get the variant wise feature details of Ciaz, which would help the would-be-buyers to decide, which one to go for.
As we already know, Ciaz will pack 1.3 litre Multijet diesel or 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine under the hood. While the 1.4 litre K series (K14B) petrol engine is capable of producing 95 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm, the 1.3 litre DDIS diesel motor is tuned to churn out 90 PS at 4,000 rpm power and 200 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm.
The diesel motor will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and the petrol engine will get a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.
Ciaz is expected to deliver best in class fuel efficiency, with the petrol version of the car to give a mileage of 20.73 kmpl and the diesel model to give 26.21 kmpl.
To be offered in four trims in both petrol and diesel variants- VXi, VXi+, ZXi and ZXi+ (Petrol), VDi, VDi+, ZDi and ZDi+ (Diesel), Ciaz, the replacement of Maruti's slow performer SX4 is expected to pack exciting features.
From the latest leaks, the base variants (VXi and VDi) of Ciaz will come fitted with projector headlamps, front and rear armrests, keyless entry, audio system with USB, fabric upholstery, and electrically-adjustable OVRMs with indicators.
VXi and VDi
Driver airbag, ABS with EBD, climate control, parking sensors, bluetooth integrated audio system, height adjustable driver seat and steering-mounted controls.
ZXi and ZDi
15-inch alloys, rear sunshade, keyless entry and go, front passenger airbag, electric OVRMs, reversing camera, fabric and leather upholstery.
ZXi+ and ZDi+
Smartplay infotainment system, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering and 16-inch alloys.
The bookings for Ciaz is already open in the country and from what we heard, Maruti is getting good response from the auto lovers. As of now, the pricing details of Ciaz are not known, however, rumours suggest a price tag in the range of ₹7.2 lakh-₹10.5 lakh.
Once it hits the market, Maruti Ciaz will rival Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento.
