The launch date of Maruti's highly anticipated Ciaz sedan appears to have been confirmed if a new report on an automobile website is to be believed.
Maruti's Ciaz, the upcoming sedan that is set to replace the company's under-performing Maruti SX4, has been linked to several conflicting launch dates. And now the latest tidbit comes from the folks at CarDekho. The website, citing its sources close to the development, claims that 10 October is the scheduled launch of the much awaited Maruti Ciaz.
The information seems to be credible since sources at the company earlier had hinted at a mid-October release date.
The bookings of Ciaz are already underway in the country with a token amount of ₹21,000 and the company has also started its mega ad campaigns ahead of the car's launch.
Maruti Ciaz, a car with a fabulous look will be pinned to rival Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento in India and from what we heard so far, the car will fall in the price range of ₹7.2 lakh-₹10.5 lakh.
Tipped to be India's most fuel efficient car, Ciaz will come with 1.3 litre Multijet diesel or 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine under the hood.
While the 1.4 litre K series (K14B) petrol engine is tuned to churn out 95 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm peak torque at 4,000 rpm, the 1.3 litre diesel motor will pump in 90 PS at 4,000 rpm power and 200 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm.
The petrol version of Ciaz is expected to deliver a mileage of 20.73 kmpl and the diesel model gives the segments best 26.21 kmpl.
The car will come donned in seven body colours--- Pearl Metallic Arctic White, Midnight Black, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, Clear Beige, Chocolate Brown and Fire Brick Red and will be available in four trims - VXi, VXi+, ZXi, and ZXi+ and VDi, VDi+, ZDi and ZDi+.
