Maruti Suzuki's Ciaz SHVS Hybrid is just about a couple of days away from its launch in the country and the rumour mills are busy spinning more stories about the features and pricing details of the hybrid sedan model.
The Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle) from the house of Maruti has been in the spotlight for a while now, and the car was caught on camera while being tested in India too. Now the latest interesting tidbit on the new Ciaz hybrid from CarWale reveals that the new model will be available in three variants – VDi, ZDi, and ZDi+.
From what we know so far, Ciaz SHVS hybrid will remain the same as the current Ciaz model in the market in its outlook and style, except for the SHVS badging at the rear.
The main changes will be in the power line-up of the model, which will now feature Integrated Starter Generator along with 1.3-litre Multijet engine.
The Ciaz hybrid is speculated to give a return of about 30kmpl and if this rings true, the sedan will become one of the most fuel efficient models in the country. Rumours are also doing the rounds that Maruti will discontinue the diesel Ciaz model to make way for the new Ciaz SHVS and the dealers are currently offering heavy discounts on the diesel variants of the sedan.
The deliveries of Ciaz SHVS are likely to begin by the end of August and when launched, the model is rumoured to carry a price tag higher than the current model by Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh.
