The auto aficionados in India have heard a lot about Maruti Suzuki's upcoming hybrid Ciaz and now the latest is that the model is likely to cost about Rs 1.2 lakh higher than the present car depending on the variant.
The latest tips from Car Dekho claim that Ciaz hybrid SHVS is set for a post-Independence Day launch in India and the model could make its entry as early as next week. The report further adds that Ciaz's mild hybrid, which is based on the diesel model of the sedan, is expected to be priced higher than the current model by Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh.
Ciaz SHVS recently made its online debut through spy shots, which indicted that Maruti sedan is likely to remain the same as the current model in terms of style and design with the changes likely to be confined under the hood.
Power of Ciaz hybrid will come from the 1.3-litre Multijet engine combined with lithium-ion battery. The model will also feature start/stop system and Maruti Ciaz SHVS is rumoured to clock a mileage of nearly 30kmpl.
Some previous reports had suggested that many dealers have started accepting bookings for Ciaz SHVS with a down payment of Rs 11,000 and deliveries are expected to commence early September. The upcoming Ciaz diesel hybrid is expected to replace the current diesel Ciaz models.
