It looks like Maruti is readying a special edition of its sedan Ciaz for the Indian market. A new batch of spy shots of Maruti Ciaz has emerged online, showing minor tweaks on the model, in what appears to be the new variant of Ciaz.
Caught on camera by GaadiWaadi, the new images, which are believed to have been taken inside the company's plant, show the model with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on the bumper along with white racing stripes. Apart from these minor updates, the new Ciaz looks just the same as the current model. Based on online rumours, the newly-spotted Ciaz could be an anniversary version of the sedan.
Under the hood, the new Ciaz will be packing the same 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine and 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine. Launched on 6 October, Maruti Ciaz is available in the price range of ₹6.99 lakh to ₹9.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car, which replaced Maruti's SX4, has been getting good response from buyers in the country since its entry into the market.
In April, Maruti sold 4,662 units of Ciaz, compared to 76 units of SX4 sedan sold in April 2014.
