After rolling out additional safety features in Swift and Dzire, Maruti Suzuki -- the country's largest car maker -- has introduced ABS and airbags as options across all variants of its popular Celerio.
The company also said that the AMT (Automated Manual technology), popularly known as AGS (Auto gear Shift) will be available in the Lxi variants of Celerio now. Maruti Celerio, the first AMT models in the country that made its market debut at the Auto Expo 2014, sales have reached 1.3 lakh units in the country. Currently, Celerio is available three engine options-petrol, diesel and CNG.
"Through Celerio we have always tried to offer the best to customers. By offering safety features like airbags for driver and co-driver, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) from the base variant onwards in Celerio, we are making it more attractive for customers. I am happy that we are able to offer these safety features on Celerio much ahead of regulations," said R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India.
