Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG variant of its much acclaimed Celerio in the country with an attractive price tag of ₹4.92 Lakh (Ex-Showroom Mumbai).
The new Celerio, christened as Celerio Green is available only in Vxi trim and draws its power from 1.0 liter K series petrol engine, which is re-tuned to produce 59 PS of power on CNG mode. It packs power windows and manually adjustable ORVMs in addition to the power steering, air conditioning and heater .The vehicle is likely to hit the market by the end of May.
Reports suggest that Maruti is working on a diesel version of Celerio and it is being said that the company will also launch an LPG variant of the vehicle. If reports are to be believed, the diesel Celerio will hit roads in this fiscal year.
First unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014 in Noida, Celerio is the first car in India to come with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). The car has been garnering phenomenal success in the country since its launch, and currently enjoys a waiting period of upto eight months.
