Maruti Suzuki Baleno 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol has been spied undergoing tests on the Indian roads, giving yet another look at the model ahead of its launch. The latest batch of spy images of the Baleno with Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine gives a closer look at the front profile of the model.
Snapped by CarDekho, the test mule spotted is likely to be the export model of the Baleno 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol. The same will also be launched in India during the festive season this year, but with RS kit. Dubbed the Baleno RS, it will come packed with additional features like side skirts and new diamond cut alloy wheels, which would make it easy to differentiate it from the regular models.
The Baleno RS will be equipped with ABS and dual airbags as standard and is also rumoured to get disc brakes on all four wheels. Other features expected to be included are reverse camera, automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system with Apple CarPlay.
Although the Baleno in its powerful avatar looks identical to the regular model, it does get a sportier front and rear bumpers. The Baleno Boosterjet will come powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, which would churn out close to 110bhp of power and 170Nm of peak torque.
The Baleno, which is currently being sold through Maruti''s premium Nexa showrooms in India is powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine tuned to develop 83bhp and 115Nm of torque and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel mill churns out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and the petrol engine is also available with CVT automatic gearbox.
