Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, is wasting no time in promoting the upcoming new avatar of Alto K10.
The company has previewed Alto K10 Facelift at a concert in Chandigarh, confirming earlier rumours that the car is gearing up for launch in India.
It has been widely speculated that Maruti will take the wraps off of its new hatchback Alto K10 facelift on 21 October. And now, ahead of its official launch, the new avatar of Alto K10 has got a soft launch in the country at a live concert, according to the tweet from GaadiWaadi.
The auto aficionados in India have seen the upcoming Alto K10 facelift, through spy shots and leaked reports. Although Maruti is yet to confirm the launch of the model, the latest move tells us that the company is ready to roll out the vehicle.
From what we have heard so far, Alto K10 facelift will pack an 998cc three-pot Maruti Celerio engine under the hood, which can churn out 68ps of max power and 90nm of torque, and will be offered with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). If this is true, Alto K10 will become Maruti's second car to get AMT, and the model will be the only car from Maruti's stable to be launched in Petrol, CNG & AMT.
Speculated to be available in a total of six trims - four variants with 5-speed manual transmission LX, LXi, VXi & Vxi (o) and two with AMT LXi & VXi - Alto K10 is expected to get styling cues from Alto 800.
And as far as the features are concerned, expect the new Alto model to get a re-worked front bumper, new engine grille and newly styled headlamps, along with features like body-coloured ORVMs, wheel caps, door protection mouldings, central locking, front power windows and rear parcel tray.
In India, the Alto K10 facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Eon and Datsun Go.
