Maruti's new Ciaz hybrid is scheduled to be launched in India on 1 September, and ahead of its launch, the Ciaz SHVS has been spotted yet again this time in a leaked brochure. The leak gives auto lovers in the country a pretty clear picture of the features, specifications and most importantly the mileage of the sedan.
From the brochures seen on CarWale and GaadiWaadi, it has now been confirmed that Maruti Ciaz SHVS hybrid model is set to become the country's most fuel efficient offering with a mileage figure of 28.9kmpl.
Maruti Ciaz SHVS Hybrid, which will replace the existing Ciaz diesel in the market, will be offered in Vdi, Vdi (O), Vdi+, Zdi & Zdi+ variants. In terms of the dimensions, Ciaz SHVS measures the same as the current model with 4,490mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,485mm in height. The Ciaz has a ground clearance of 170mm and a wheelbase of 2,650mm.
As for styling, Ciaz SHVS remains the same as the current model except for the 'SHVS' badging at the rear. Under the hood, the hybrid Ciaz will get 1.3-litre Multijet engine with Integrated Starter Generator and battery. The SHVS technologies will be brought to India as CBU and this is likely to take the cost of the new Ciaz higher by up to Rs 45,000 than the current Ciaz diesel model.
The bookings for Ciaz SHVS hybrid are open in the country and the first lot of the new Ciaz mild hybrid have started arriving at Maruti dealerships.
