Just as the 41st Annual March for Life rally is set to take place in Washington DC on Wednesday against abortion, pro-life protesters have found it worth mentioning the millions of lives that were 'killed' inside the womb after the 1973's landmark Roe Vs Wade judgement that deemed abortion a fundamental right under the United States Constitution.
LifeNews.com reported citing a US Centers for Disease Control report that over 56 million 'legal' abortions have taken place since the landmark decision of 1973. The exact number of abortions reported to have been conducted after the ruling of January 22, 1973 is 56,662,169.
While pro-abortion groups have cried for decades that the abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare," pro-life supports have argued that the millions of babies aborted have only proved how brutal humans have become.
The march for life rally has been staged every year after the 1973 Supreme Court decision. This year's theme for the march will be 'adoption'.
"Adoption is a heroic decision for pregnant mothers who find themselves in a difficult situation," Says Jeanne Monahan, March for life President. "We want to eliminate the sigma of adoption and encourage women to pursue this noble option.
This year will mark the 41st March for Life in Washington, DC. The official website of the event claims that hundreds of thousands of people participated in the March in 2013, and crowds are expected to keep growing irrespective of the weather.
"January 22, 1973 is ingrained in the minds of pro-lifers because on that infamous historic day the Supreme Court invalidated 50 state laws and made abortion legal and available on demand through the United States," the official Website said.
