Marathi film "Sairat" continues to create history at the box office. The film, with its unique love story, has emerged as a landmark movie in the Marathi film industry and is one of the most successful films of this year.
"Sairat" had opened to positive response and had a good opening weekend as well. The film recorded the highest opening weekend collection and is now the biggest grosser in the Marathi film industry. The film created history after it crossed the Rs. 50 crore mark and now, the film has taken its total box office collection to Rs. 60 crore.
Due to the increase in demand, several theatre owners have increased the show count. The theatre owners have started 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. slots in rural Maharashtra, which is a rare instance, Mumbai Mirror reported. This will further help the box office earnings of the film, which has minted Rs. 60 crore, until now.
The film has garnered rave reviews from across all corners of the film industry. And looking at this response, the makers have decided to give a bonus of Rs. 5 crore to lead actors Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. The lead actors were paid just Rs. 4 lakh to work on the film.
"Yes, we are planning this as a small gesture of goodwill for the cast and it is not only the actors who will be receiving certain amounts of money, but also the extended cast and crew. We are finalising the paperwork, but at the same time are hoping that we do not have to close our accounting books soon, since the shows are still going houseful. Last week, there were three shows of Captain America: Civil War, three of Azhar and eight of Sairat in Mumbai suburbs," producer Nitin Keni, CEO-Founder of EsselVision Productions, told Mumbai Mirror.
