Malayalam actress Manju Warrier released the first-look poster of her upcoming sports movie "Karinkunnam Sixes" (Karimkunnam 6's) on her Facebook page Sunday, April 3.
"Presenting the first-look poster of 'Karinkunnam Sixes' directed by Deepu Karunakaran. I play the role of a volleyball coach. I wasn't familiar with this world of smashes and blocks, but once I stepped into it, each scene became a game for me. 'Karinkunnam Sixes' is the first Malayalam movie based on this sport. The gallery is filled with each one of you and the entire team requests your encouragement (translated)," Manju posted on her social media page while sharing the first-look poster of the movie.
Manju plays the role of a volleyball coach Vandhana in the movie opposite Anoop Menon, and the poster features Manju, Jacob Gregory and the members of her team, including Babu Antony, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Baiju, Sudheer Karamana, among others, who are also inmates of the Poojapura Central Jail in Thiruvananthapuram.
"How cool does this look ! Greg you look smashing ! All the best to the cast and crew for an awesome film [sic], actor Dulquer Salmaan praised Jacob Gregory and the entire team of the movie after the release of its first-look poster.
Recently, there were rumours of Tamil superstar Dhanush making a cameo appearance in the Manju starrer. However, a source close to the movie had then confirmed to International Business Times India that the actor will not be part of "Karinkunnam Sixes" even though there were plans of casting him earlier.
The Deepu Karunakaran directorial is written by Arunlal Ramachandran and Jayakrishna Gummadi handles the cinematography of the flick, for which music is done by Rahul Raj. "Karinkunnam Sixes" is being produced by Jayalil Menon and Anil Biswas under the banner of Lemon Productions.
