"Manjhi-The Mountain Man", which features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, was released on Friday, 21 August. But, a special screening of the film was held on Thursday and it was attended by several celebrities from Bollywood.
A special poster of the film, created by some fans, was also displayed at the event. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte looked very excited during the special screening of "Manjhi-The Mountain Man", other veteran celebs also enjoyed the event and posed for the shutterbugs.
The screening was attended by stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Shah, Kiran Bedi, David Dhawan, Deepa Sahi and Vinay Pathak.
Directed by Ketan Mehta, "Manjhi-The Mountain Man" is a biopic that is based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, a poor farmer who single-handedly carved a path through a mountain, reducing the distance between his village and a hospital.
It took 22 years for him to accomplish the mission. The aim of carving the path was to prevent any person from dying due to lack of swift medical attention. As the hospital was located very far from the village, Manjhi's wife died as she did not receive medical attention when required.
Ketan Mehta has made a number of biopics earlier and his latest creation, "Manjhi-The Mountain Man", brought two critically acclaimed actors of Bollywood, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte, together for the first time. Check the photos of the celebs at the special screening below:
